Experiences in F.E.A.R. 3

MATURE CONTENT, CONCEPTS AND LANGUAGE!
Most video games involve offensive material to some degree.  Welcome to the new modern age!
Don't like it?
Then don't complain about it... don't read or view my reviews.
No one is forcing you to buy and play video games.

The First Encounter Assault Recon (F.E.A.R.) Game Series began in 2005 and concludes with this 2011 title named FEAR 3.  The story is more interesting than anything.  However, the game is counted among the paranormal horror genre of games.  The game presents a creepy atmosphere indeed, so, you might find a few creepy moments where "scare-flinch-jumping-in-your-chair" is a real possibility.

You don't really need to have played the other F.E.A.R. games in order to have a fun gaming experience with FEAR 3.  There are plenty of game videos and review to catch you up on the backstory details.

Storyline: The storyline is entertaining and intriguing with a solidly thought out plot if you've followed the entire FEAR Series... if not, no problem, you can catch up through the various wiki's, videoes and reviews or just jump right into the game... either way is going to work out.

Game Mechanics: If you've played modern first person shooters you'll find FEAR 3 handles well.  The controls have a nominal learning curve and the keyboard keys can be modified or remapped.  Note that a bullet time effect is present.  For example, fast and quick moving enemies can be slowed down so you can easily aim and shoot them in slow motion.

Weapons and Equipment: There are not many weapons to use, but the ones available sound and feel beefy.  You can have special powers too, such as the power of possession.  This possession power allows you to control an enemy's brain and body.  The game also allows you to pick up and use enemy weapons.  In fact, that is how you acquire the various weaponry and ammo as opposed to a regular ammo depot or armory.

Graphics: For a 2011 release the graphics are not cutting edge by today's standards, but very slick looking.  Max Payne 3 presents a semi-realistic feeling to weapons and environment.  Overall, they are well done with a minimal impact on your computers hardware.

Game Modes: Traditionally, the F.E.A.R. game series was built with singleplayer and multiplayer modes in mind.  However, F.E.A.R. 3 is developed by a different development studio and so, it features a well thought out cooperative mode too.

Requirements: A mid-range PC and video card should be fine.
