STEAM had a 75% weekend sale on the entire line of Crysis games. I decided to purchase the Crysis Collection, which included Crysis II Maximum Edition.

I started Crysis II in 2012 but ended up revisiting the game in 2013 in order to finish it.  So, this topic will be reserved for all Crysis II Maximum Edition and Crysis III.

I bought Crysis III on the Origin Game Platform because it was not available on STEAM.  ORIGIN is a lot like STEAM... not as great as STEAM, but a good gaming platform. The game was on sale for around $20 and I already enjoyed playing Crysis I and II and was curious which direction that the storyline would take.  The featured weapons sealed the decision... the Compound Bow/Arrow and Nano Suit Technology... just plain awesome.

Crysis 2 Co-Op Mod:

My original intent in buying was to facilitate Crysis Co-OP Mod that I had read about at the Moddb.com:

==> http://www.moddb.com/mods/crysis-2-co-op

This obviously required Crysis 2 and found it on sale via STEAM as Crysis 2 Maximum Edition.

Appearently the Crysis 2 Co-Op Mod is yet to be released.  However, the demo is out.  So, I have been tying to get it working correctly and asked about it on two forums:

STEAM Forums ==> http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/sh...?t=2929666
MyCrysis Forums ==> http://secure.mycrysis.com/forums/viewto...40&t=49552

I have not received a response yet.

In the meantime, I played around with the SP mode.  The graphics are great, especially the water.  You can get even more graphics when using the Blackfire Mod2 + MaLDo Mod3 + Quality Mod from:

==> http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=308&t=71027

The thread and directions were confusing to me because of all the screen shots an unnecessary links, but I eventually got them to work correctly.  Wow, what a difference!

Initial Considerations:

. You must update the game to patch 1.9 (STEAM games are automatically updated with the most current upgrade patches).
. It is not required to download the DirectX 11, even the Crytek HiRes Texture Pack.
. It works with Crysis II purchased through STEAM and purchased at a retail store or shop.
. Do not use any "savegames or resume game" created before you installed the mod, start a new game or load the map from the "Replay Mission" in menu.
. Works in both Dx9 and Dx11.
. If you want to use even more mods, just copy the folder "gamecrysis2" of these new mods to the folder.  For example, on my computer the path is located
 within my STEAM setup (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\Mods\MaLDoHDv3).

Required Downloads:

1) Maldohd Mod3 (v3.0b.zip) ==> http://www.jeuxvideopc.com/downloads/32845-crysis-2/download-32819.php

2) QualityMod C2 v1.9 patch for MaLDoHD v3.0 ==> http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bngmcmtshfhn45w

3) Black Fire Mod2 (v1.10 .exe) ==> http://depositfiles.com/files/i9wa6aeib

Download FYI: The "Quality Mod's original post is < http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=308&t=71723 >.

I finally had time to get the Crysis 2 Coop to work correctly.  It still runs a bit flakey, but maybe that is because I tested it alone?  Anyway, here are some directions that worked for me…

Crysis 2 Coop Mod Installation
Initial Preparations:

1. Crysis 2 Game: Make sure it is installed, setup and working correctly.

2. The Coop Mod "Source Files" (instead of the demo): http://www.moddb.com/mods/crysis-2-co-op/downloads/

3. The Community Dedicated Server Package: http://www.crydev.net/dm_eds/download_detail.php?id=5

Part 1:  Community Dedicated Server Package
Extract the .zip contents into the root directory folder.  Make sure that…
- Dedicated.cfg is located in the root directory
- Crysis2_CommunityServer-Documentation.pdf is located in the support folder
- Crysis2DedicatedServer.exe is located in the bin32 folder

Open the dedicated.cfg and type the following:
- g_gamespy_unique_nick= (current account name used to log into Crysis 2).
- g_gamespy_password= (current account password used to log into Crysis 2).
- net_lobby_gamespy_online_port=64200 (leave this line alone "as is").

Create a levelrotation.xml in your root directory:

1. Right-click, New, Text document then open it and save as...
- File Name: levelrotation.xml
- File Type: all files.

2. Open the xml file and copy/paste the following:
Code:
levelRotation name="TIA"><ServerInfo><Details name="WPKServer" password="join" motd="e.g. greeting" minplayerlimit="1" /><Variant name="Standard"></Variant></ServerInfo><level name="Wars/TerminalCoop" gameRules="TeamInstantAction" /></levelRotation>
The above levelrotation.xml text is just meant to be an example.   I would leave it alone for now, but it can be changed and customized.

Create a new MyCrysis-Account:

==> http://www.mycrysis.com/

Remember, create a completely new account, which you will need a new user name, but also a new e-mail-address… and do not delete your old account!  Start Crysis 2 as usual and login with your new account information then quit.

Open the router port numbers for the game:

TCP          ; Start 64000 and End 64100
UDP           ; Start 64000 and End 64100
TCP/UDP; Start 52264 and End 52264
TCP/UDP; Start 53835 and End 53855
TCP/UDP; Start 54155 and End 54155

Part 2: Mod Installation
Extract the Crysis2Coop.rar contents into the Mods folder (if there is not a Mods folder located in the root folder then create one).

- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\Mods…

1. Open up the Crysis2Coop\Bin32 folder and right click the Crysis2Coop Shortcut and choose 'properties.'  Make sure the target and start-in boxes are filled appropriately.

-Target box:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\bin32\Crysis2.exe" -mod Crysis2Coop

-Start-in box:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\bin32"

2. Open up the Crysis2Coop\Bin32 folder and right click the Crysis2DedicatedServerCoop Shortcut and choose 'properties.'  Make sure the target and start-in boxes are filled appropriately.

-Target box:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\bin32\Crysis2DedicatedServer.exe" -mod Crysis2Coop

-Start-in box:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\bin32"

Part 3: Starting The Crysis 2 Coop Mod
1. Start the Crysis2DedicatedServerCoop shortcut.  A DOS box appears and when it is done a command prompt appears.  Type " map terminalcoop " (no quotations).
2. Start Crysis 2 via STEAM and log-in with your new account information.  Once at the main menu you will see the choice for a mods section.  Click into the mods section and then activate the Crysis2Coop Mod (your game will restart).
3. Now  the mod is fully activated.  Log-in with your new account information.  Choose the multiplayer section and look for your server.  " WPKServer " will be slightly highlighted or in bolded font and the password is " join " (no quotations).

* It operated a little weird when I tried it.  So you may have to fiddle and experiment.

Part 4:  Join A Crysis 2 Coop Server (not host)

If one of your friends owns a server and you would like to join then use the Crysis2Coop shortcut or the Crysis 2 Coop Launcher.exe("Launch Crysis 2 Co-op (32-bit)").  I think you start the mod via the mods section in the main menu, but you would just log-in a usual (no extra account needed).  Just go to the Multiplayer section and look for you friends server... if not then type your friend´s IP address into the window "Connect with IP-address."

Specifically Crisis III. Why? I bought Crysis 3 on the Origin Game Platform... alot like STEAM, but not quit as good. So, 2 factors entered into my purchase decision:

1. Price: It was on sale... $20.
2. Storyline: I already enjoyed playing Crysis I and II and was curious which direction that the storyline would take.
3. The Compond Bow/Arrow and Nano Suit Technology... just plain awsome.

I started the game in 2014, but ended up revisiting the game in 2015 because a DLC caught my attention "Lost Island."
