Experiences in Borderlands Game Series: Borderlands The Pre-Sequel

MATURE CONTENT, CONCEPTS AND LANGUAGE!
Most video games involve offensive material to some degree.  Welcome to the new modern age!
Don't like it?
Then don't complain about it... don't read or view my reviews.
No one is forcing you to buy and play video games.

You don't really need to have played other Borderlands games in order to have a fun gaming experience with Borderlands The Pre-Sequel.  There are plenty of game videos and review to catch you up on the backstory details.

However, since Borderlands The Pre-Sequel is considered similar to Borderlands II.  So those who have played Borderlands II will find Borderlands The Pre-Sequel more of the same gameplay, game mechanics and overall feel... only in a new environment.

To me, it seems Borderlands II is a unique game and really fun to play... even today.  Borderland Pre-Sequel seems like a large add-on, expansion pack or large DLC explaining the origins or background of Borderlands II.

The bottom line, if you previously enjoyed the story and gameplay of Borderlands II a lot, then Borderlands The Pre-Sequal is worth playing. If you are a complete newcomer to the Borderlands, I would start playing Borderlands II instead.

Price: I lucked out and caught the very end of an unannounced STEAM sale.  $25 bought the base game bundled with all the DLCs (expansions, add-ons).  At the time of this writing, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel is not exactly inexpensive... I think it's listed around $35 for the base game only.  However, if you wait for a sale or shop around at places such as G2A.com, it might be possible to get the game at a comfortable price.

Storyline: Despite the game's technical relation to other Borderlands games, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel storyline is entertaining and intriguing with a solidly thought out plot if you've followed the entire series... if not, no problem, like I said, you can catch up through the various wiki's, videos and reviews if you want.

Game Mechanics: If you've played modern first person shooters you'll find Borderlands The Pre-Sequel handles well.  The controls have a nominal learning curve and the keyboard keys can be modified or remapped.

Weapons and Equipment: Borderlands The Pre-Sequel is about guns and loot.  Prepare for information overload experience here. There are loads and loads of them.  You even have special abilities to choose such as super speed or fighting ability.  Guns and ammo both get picked up off dead enemies, bought via vending machines and found in loot boxes scattered throughout the game.  There is also a SHIFT Code system whereby you enter is special codes that are found outside the game (ex. webpages).  These codes are used to unlock special boxes that dispense weaponry.

Graphics: The graphics have a cartoony look... like a comic book style.  But that can be changed.  I'll cover the details in a separate post.  Overall, they are well done with a minimal impact on your computers hardware.

Game Modes: Unlike many FPS games out in the marketplace, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel is best played with a few friends.  Just like previous games in the series, battling the computer generated enemy AI is the best gaming experience around.  This game has a 4-player COOP mode... no muliplayer mode... only Singleplayer (SP) and Cooperative (COOP) modes.

Requirements: Even the recommended PC specifications are low...

OS: Windows XP SP3/Vista/Win 7/Win 8
Processor: 2.3 GHz Quad Core processor
Memory: 2048 MB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 / ATI Radeon HD 5850
DirectX: Version 10
Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 c Compliant

Choose A Character

For the first playthrough of the game, choosing a character in Borderlands The Pre-Sequal can be a major decision, especially if you've played Borderlands I or II.  The character's class and skill set you choose can have an impact on your gaming experience.

Acquire and Activate SHIFT Codes

Using SHIFT Codes in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel work differently compared to Borderlands II even though there are a few similarities.  Watch the below video all the way through in order to understand the differences!

The video lists some SHIFT Codes to try, but I recommend going to the below website for current and updated codes.

The following codes all work as of this writing:
