I use PrimoPDF or Do PDF. They are free virtual printer programs that take a screen-shots of entire web pages or program pages like MS Word, MS Excel, OpenOffice, etc. etc. (all pages, not just what you can fit on the viewable screen) and turns them into a nice formatted PDF files! Both preform the same function and the high quality of output seems the same as well.

The difference is in operating system compatibility. I have use both under Windows XP and Vista with no problems, but now prefer PrimoPDF for Windows 7 64 Bit:

Either is great for storage of those documents that you occasionally reference and just want to record or store it away in a paper-free way or just want to save in a "as-is" digital format.

For example;

Say you find a nice website about 1950 Cars and want to save it for your Classic Car Documentation Collection.

- You want all the pages and not just the one or two pictures on the screen.
- You could print it out, but the pictures might not look as nice.
- You could just "Save-As" a web page(s) or entire website. However, you would have to be online or
use a web browser with offline view capabilities.

PrimoPDF or DoPDF are a great solutions to this situation.

Note that the article up above uses a single example, but there are many uses:

For Online Courses;

You know how there is always a “printer friendly” version of each lesson? Well, each lesson covers much
more than the visible area on your screen. Sure, this can be printed out on paper, but that could be five to twenty pages long. Printing it out on paper just to store or throw the lesson away seems like a waste. With a PDF printer software program, all that is no longer an issue. Just open the “printer friendly” link and print it to the PDF printer. So, now you have a little file of the entire lesson to refer to when needed and keep it stored away on a disk or portable thumb drive… no paper and very little storage space!

For Job Searches;

When you find a job posting, it may cover much more than the visible area on your screen. Since you might be at a friends computer or other record-keeping issues, it would be nice to simply get a digital copy of the entire job posting that you can store on a disk or other portable device for later review or storage. You may not have paper to print on and you might have limited time on the computer. This is where a PDF printer comes in handy. It digitally prints the entire page or pages into a PDF format very quickly!

As you can see, the uses are almost endless. I have also used a PDF printer for:

Online Resume's'
Online Job Applications
Online Web Articles
Online Banking Records
Credit Card Records
Online Purchasing Receipts

and much more!
