Traditionally the Dead Space game series has been single-player only.  However, the third game in the series was designed with a coop mode.  So, naturally, I bought this game.  I waited a while and kept putting off the purchase because it requires ORIGIN (a STEAM-like game platform). While ORIGIN is no where near as nice as STEAM, ORIGIN is not really all that horrible as some claim. ORIGN does have a few bugs and oddities, but overall not bad.

Anyway, the Dead Space game series is set up as a "horror- sci-fi -survival".  Dead Space III seems more of just "action sci-fi survival" compared to DS1 and DS2.  Details of the story leading up to DS3 are plentiful, but here is a good summery video thus far:

So, Dead Space III is no exception to this genre and the series, but is is a bit more action oriented type of game.  This is certainly the opinion of the below video review.

So, the main game is going to cost the most.  At the time of this writing, DS3 is $20; the story expansion DS3 Awakening DLC is $10 and the various Micro-DLCs range from a bundle of $15-$2.

Purchasing is confusing for any game.  Especially one filled with micro-transactions and multiple downloadable content packages.  Here's a guide to help figure out exactly what is available as far as DLCs.

Read the above link... make sure you know what you are getting instead of throwing money away on duplicate stuff!

Here's a "work-around and fixes" guide for the game:

Here's a couple detailed guides to help with the actual game play:

==> http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2013/02/05/dead-space-3-walkthrough.htm#chapter1

I have trouble with those games that require a certain keyboard key to be pressed repeatedly fast (called button mashing) and Dead Space 3 requires button mashing the “e” key to avoid the enemy grasp.  One of my previous games, Far Cry 3, had the same button mashing, but I used Autokey to get around it.  This time, Autokey did not work due to the specialized nature of the Dead Space 3 game engine requirement of direct input.  It looked as if I wasted my money.  Luckily, I found very useful program called GlovePIE that does the job.  It can be used in all sorts of games.  Long story short, it saved my gaming experience.

Normally, unlocking the Mass Effect 3 N7 Armor Suit and a gun called Planet Cracker are requires a completed Mass Effect 3 game file save.  I found one posted... scroll for the download .

Simply extract the zip contents into your documents folder... keep the folder structure in-tact.  Meaning; open zip to view it, click and drag the BioWare folder into your documents folder.

There is a known door sound stuttering bug that EA refuses to fix or even own up to.  Be that as it may, the good news is that the sound bug is kind of miniscule and the average person will not even care all that much, but some Dead Space fans and seasoned gamers might get their panties in a bunch over it.

Some web sources say turning on the game's V-Sync option slows the stuttering down while others seem to use the solution found here at:

The first few minutes of the below video demonstrates the door sound bug.
